Brent Strom
Pitching Coordinator, St. Louis Cardinals
"I do not normally write letters for all who request them because in the end it is my reputation that is on the line when my word is taken and a prospective employer takes into consideration that recommendation.

As such I have no hesitation writing on Doug White’s behalf.  I have known Doug for over 7 years.  He is a bright young pitching coach who has searched out information, utilized it as he sees fit and in the process improved pitchers.  As a communicator and motivator I have seen few who bring the energy level to the ballpark as Doug does on a daily basis."

Ron Thompson
General Manager, Alaska Quakes Travel Baseball Organization
"I really appreciated the time, effort and enthusiasm to get as much information to as many players and coaches in the short amount of time we had. I know that this will help baseball progress in the cold Alaskan tundra. I really enjoyed the conversations and talking baseball this weekend.

Thanks again and I know I can say for our baseball players that you brought a new found excitement amongst a lot of kids this weekend. I have already heard from a large number this morning that said their kids just can't stop talking about baseball. Way to go. You guys are doing a great thing for players of all ages and I am sure it carries over to the older players as well. Good luck with your next adventures and I am sure I will keep in touch and make this happen again."

"Dear Doug,
I wanted to thank you for you help with my son James. James was in his last year of majors and had an outstanding season. First and foremost he has had absolutely no arm problems after a full season of little league. His velocity started the year at around low to mid 60's and he ended the year throwing around mid 60's to low 70's. He struck out 126 batters over 20 games and gave up 11 hits all season. In one game he struck out 17 out of 18 batters.

"Your attention to details in his delivery are now part of his regular motion and he maintains his stamina and strength through your exercise program. James is looking forward to your return from working in the Cardinal organization this year and having a successful off-season with your instruction."

Sincerely,
Darrell Klueber, Parent of James Kleuber

"Hey Coach White,
It's Thomas Vermazen, I was one of the pitchers from Point Loma High School that was in your pitching clinics last fall.  I just want to let you know that I'm now out here in Jersey City, New Jersey playing baseball for New Jersey City University.  I've been using your workouts ever since the fall and continue to do them now.

My head coach has told me he wants to see me in the starting rotation this spring.  I'm in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, which I've been told is the best baseball conference in Division III.  I want to thank you again for all your help and I'll keep you updated on how I'm doing out here."

"Hi Doug!
We've been thinking alot about you lately as Tyler's Little League season here in Poway is underway and how much he has impressed his coaches, teammates and opponents with his change up and overall pitching technique & form. We have sung your praises everytime someone asks us where Tyler learned and developed the skills he's displaying on the mound.

In Tyler's eyes and ours, you have a wonderful talent and we feel very fortunate that Ty had the opportunity to work with you. Our hope is that when you return to the San Diego area you would consider working with Tyler again…We'll look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best."

Ryan Dupic, Coach
Buena Vista University

"Thank you again for the wonderful camp you performed. I have been to many baseball/pitching camps, but yours was without question the best and most well organized camp I have been to. I greatly appreciate the knowledge and passion for the game. I have found myself looking for pictures on the internet of pelvic and scap loading non-stop, and have not been able to get my mind off of pitching. I cannot wait to work with the pitchers at Buena Vista University.

My mind has been spinning, so I promise I will be in contact with more questions than you probably hope for in the future. Thank you again for opening my eyes to the truths of mechanics, or I should say, mechanical efficiency."

Chuck Patrick
General Manager, Escondido Eagles, U14s

"I just wanted to take a moment and thank you again for working with our Eagles staff on the pitching routines. We really appreciated you customizing a program that could be delivered to all 8 pitchers over a 4 week timeframe. I think the program was a big positive and the feedback has been outstanding from the players & parents alike.

Your coaching and teaching skills are excellent and really help to allow the players to see why the techniques you teach are so important. Thanks for being such a pro Doug...its a pleasure to work with you!"

Calvin Tanton
Head Coach, Bellevue West High School

"I would highly recommend Passion for Pitching to any organization.  The instructors are both knowledgeable and passionate about what they teach.  Coach White and Coach Strom offer a different look into what throwing is all about.  There use of technology, movements of the body, and experiences in baseball allows for players of all ages to throw the ball with increased velocity.  Passion for Pitching puts the athleticism back into throwing."

"I was first introduced to Doug through a recommendation from Reggie Waller to give pitching lessons to my son. Since then, my son has been seeing him for the past 3 years. Right off the bat, the thing that impressed me the most about Doug was his passion for the game and for pitching. He connects very well with students and is able to teach at both the pace and skill level required to maximize the lesson.

Also what surprised me about Doug is that the actual pitching is just a small part of the big picture regarding pitching. Conditioning, philosophy, batter set-up, mechanics, and confidence is also a big part of working with Doug. My son is in his senior year of high school, and has had great success pitching both in high school and in travel ball. Doug has paved the way for my son to have a chance to pitch at the next level.

We owe a lot of the success to Doug, and his workouts. My son often calls Doug to discuss pitching, and considers him a friend as well as a mentor. I recommend Doug to anyone who is serious about getting better and is willing to work."

"Doug White is an incredible instructor.  His instructing skills, knowledge of the technique, and patience has made a remarkable improvement in my son.  He came to Doug in July not able to throw very hard; his velocity was around 50 –55 mph and he had very little confidence.

Doug, through his abilities to communicate and reach out, has my son now throwing hard and long, and his velocity is around 70 mph.  He’s not only helped my son become a better pitcher but also a confident player, either defensively or at the bat.   He just made a very-competitive JV team, I don’t think he would have made it without these skills. I recommend Doug to all kids, no matter what level they are at."
